Customer Data Aggregation Requirement

BCBS 239 is a regulation issued by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) and is aimed at improving risk data aggregation and reporting across financial markets. It includes 14 principles for aggregating data and reporting risk. The consistent theme across the principles is that the data must be consistently structured, comprehensive, up-to-date, accurate and easy to share across systems, jurisdictions and through reports. Since risk data, including customer data, must be captured and communicated across the bank, establishing consistent data taxonomies and linkages among systems is critical to BCBS 239 compliance.
